Indications for interrupting or stopping ART

Clinical description
- Stop ART in patients with chronic poor adherence. Consider stopping if intensive counselling has
failed.
- ART should be stopped abruptly and completely if any of the following severe side-effects are
suspected:
o Lactic acidosis o Pancreatitis o Severe hepatitis o Stevens-Johnson syndrome
