Clinical description
- An important part of health messages concerning pregnant women should be the encouragement of all pregnant women to attend antenatal clinics early in pregnancy, especially as soon as they suspect that they are pregnant.
- Pregnant women presenting with fever should be tested for malaria and treated accordingly.
- Taking IPTp should be done in conjunction with other preventive measures that are available and acceptable.
- Malaria treatment and prevention services in the ANC should be viewed as an integral part of the MCH services in the improvement of the mother's and child's health.
